First Workshop, 2023
H: 4 in x W: 3.5 in
Cotton embroidery floss on canvas, mounted on bamboo hoop and backed with felt.
This pastoral landscape was created while putting together my very first workshop with TextileArtist.org (to be released in December 2023). I decided to create a piece that incorporated sweeping hills, oak trees, and poppies, because those elements automatically remind me of Santa Barbara, my hometown.
This piece took 39 hours to complete, uses 35 colors with the number of strands varying in the different details, and the back is signed and dated.
